The father of her was Argentine who had Scottish as well as English heritage. Her mother is of Spanish as well as English descent. Taylor Joy is the youngest of four siblings, one at each one of their parents' prior marriages. They were originally from Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria at the age of aged six. Taylor-Joy says the move to London was traumatizing and she was unable to study English to avoid moving back to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she had to attend after switching from Northlands. Then she attended Queen's Gate School where she was a ballet student and performed in school plays. At the age of 16, she quit school in order to make a career of acting. The dream of Taylor-Joy to become a professional actress was born at an early age.
