She appeared on two seasons of Showtime series Weeds with Mary Louise Parker. Her most well-known roles include her roles as Judy Kramer in Point Pleasant the 2005 show that aired on Fox and as Marcy Bender in Dawson's Creek. The three-year run in the role of Marina Cooper, in Guiding Light's soap-opera, earned her nominations to the Soap Opera Digest Awards 2003 in the Outstanding Newcomer category. Dollar appeared as Cindy Thomas from 2007 until 2008 in the ABC soap opera Women's Murder Club. She also portrayed Happy Valley in the 2012 NBC pilot, but it did not get taken on.
